Why Steve Jobs Is (Legitimately) Pissed at the Media

I wasn’t present at Friday’s special iPhone 4 Press Conference held by Apple at their Cupertino Campus, but I followed the excellent live coverage from Jason Snell at Macworld. Ignoring the specifics of the announcements (spoiler: there is no fucking recall you fucktards), one thing jumped out at me: Steve Jobs was palpably angry with the media.

Emails From Steve

Looking to get into the fun (and apparently lucrative) game of shopping around emails from Steve Jobs, I went ahead and sent him a note. Imagine my utter shock and amazement when he answered. Here is a copy of our exchange:

David Carr on Steve Jobs’ Health

I haven’t written about this subject of Steve Jobs’ health issues much here, mainly because the vast majority of the coverage of this issue has left me disgusted. If you’ve been following the Angry Mac Bastards podcast you know that I have been pretty vocal in my opinion that the coverage of Steve’s issues has been tabloid – tacky at best, bordering on ghoulish at worst. So image my utter joy and delight to read a column by David Carr in the New York Times agreeing with my assessment. Thanks, David, for being a voice of decency amongst a bunch of fucking vultures.

Joe Nocera Is a Slime Bucket

This one’s probably not going to win me any friends; but then again, I’m not in this for the popularity. As you all probably know, one of the memes being bandied about in the media in the last week is the “Apple is ‘fucking up’ by not disclosing Steve Jobs’ medical condition.” To which Apple has, so-far, replied with a firm “Steve’s medical condition is his business,” and an implied, “fuck you.”

At the center of this reporting is one particular piece of shit named Joe Nocera, who reports for the New York Times. Now, here’s the thing, I know a few things about Joe Nocera and his reporting. Sadly, this is the part where many of you will tune out. But please take the time to click the link to the Deep Capture Blog in my sidebar. Deep Capture is the ongoing story of Overstock.com’s CEO Patrick Byrne’s fight against market manipulating hedge fund managers and the business media that is complicit in their attempts to fuck over publicly traded companies. At the very least read this post from Deep Capture which deal specifically with the douchebag Joe Nocera.

The thing is, I am firmly

And on the Lighter Side of Media Criticism.

Hahahha, fuck me this is a good one. Via Crooks and Liars: CNN Admits It Should Have Vetted Guest Expert Better. Apparently the “guest expert” discussing the Spitzer situation was a former U.S. Attorney who lost his job after, “being accused of biting a topless dancer on the arm during a visit to an adult club after losing a big drug case.” No, CNN; I’m fairly certain that you picked the absolute best possible guest expert.
