Why Blog?

When the whole “blog” thing hit the mainstream it was never something that I found myself particularly interested in. I mean, what would I have to write about, and who would want to read it? A while back though, a series of events happened that made me realize that there was one simple reason to put a site like this together. I wanted to. I want to write because I want to write. If no one ever reads this, if this is just me talking to myself, then so what? If, on the other hand, someone out there is reading my ranting and raving, then I hope that you enjoy the ride. I won’t promise that it will be pretty, but it will be me.

More recently, it seems that I have developed a small audience who enjoy my rants on technology and the “new” media.  To those new readers, welcome.  I hope I don’t bore you too much.

Why “The Angry Drunk?”

Because I drink a lot and I’m angry. Ok, that’s simplistic; but the truth is that I do enjoy a pint (or 12) of Guinness and there is a lot of shit going on in the world that pisses me off. That being said, I hope that you’ll find that I’m not all about the anger, or the inebriation.

Dedication:

I want to dedicate this site and the writing in it to two very special people. While these two have never met, they share so very much in common. They are both amazing mothers, whose love and devotion to their children informs every aspect of their lives. They are both amazing friends, who have been there for me in ways that I can never put into words. And they are both amazingly beautiful women, who’s radiance fills every room that they pass through. Christine and Vicki, I dedicate this to you. Thank you for letting me be a part of your amazing lives. To know either of you would be a blessing; to know both of you is a miracle.
