Gin Time: Tonic Water Tasting

In an effort to pep up my gin and tonics I’ve decided to sample some “premium” tonic waters. There’s really no point in shelling out for top–shelf hooch if you’re going to mix it with swill. Tonight was Fentiman’s Tonic Water (warning, hideous website ahoy).

The verdict: A fuck-sight better than Canada Dry or Schweppes.

  • I didn't know Fentiman's made tonic water — I'll have to try to find some around here. My go-to brand has become Fever Tree.

  • Fever Tree is next up in the sampler rotation.

Don't know if you've ever tried it, but to me, Gin (Tanqueray) and bitter lemon is a way better drink than a straight up G & T, even more so with just a splash of Rose's in the glass before you pour. Try it – you won't regret it.

In fact, once, while tubing down the Delaware River with the aforementioned drink in hand , I was able to trade the drink for a boat. And a pair of water skis. And the guy's wife.

    Good stiff drink indeed.

  • I haven't tried it yet, but Q Tonic claims to have a wide distribution of resellers, including your Scottsdale, AZ and my Toronto, ON. http://qtonic.com/availability.html
