Nerd Wankery

Huzzah! Yet another self-important nerd has decided to abandon the evil empire of Apple, what with their Draconian Control and all, for the mystical utopia of Google. Meanwhile, no one in the real world even knows who the hell Tim Bray is. Rock on you crazy diamond.

“Tim Bray is the co-inventor of XML, longtime blogger, and influential technologist. He currently works at Google as a Developer Advocate for the Android mobile platform.“

So… someone who works for Google is going to use his employers’ product rather than that of their chief rival? Earthshattering news!

Apparently he was driven into Google’s sweet, loving embrace by Apple’s Caligula-like excesses.

Hmm, after reading “Draconian Control” I felt the sudden urge to scream “CLOUD” at the top of my lungs… Or was that “KLAUS”?

There are a couple of very good posts on his site asking for clarification of some of his points that appear to be incorrect.

He hasn’t bothered to respond. So far, a perfect Google employee.

Errrr, did Tim ever say that anyone in the real world knew him? Also, for him to “abandon the evil empire of Apple” he would have either had to work there (Sun != Apple) or stopped using his Mac laptop (nope). You’re quoting TechCrunch ferfucksake, not the person’s own blog.

Tim’s implications were clear you raving moron. No one writes eight paragraphs of asinine and factually incorrect screed against the main competitor to his new corporate master without a reason.

  • paulehoffman

I never said he didn’t have a reason: of course he has a fucking reason that corresponds with his new employer. He hates the iPhone application delivery mechanism; so what? So do many developers who make a lot of money from it. His job is clearly to get their attention and focus it on Android. Did he not make that perfectly clear in the posting?

You said “has decided to abandon the evil empire of Apple”, something that you pulled out of thinner air than is used for most techcrunch stories.

Satan’s cunt you’re a tedious little troll aren’t you. Go piss off and annoy someone with more time for your witless babble.
