The Rude Pundit on Health Care as a Civil Right

As usual, The Rude Pundit nails it. Health care is a civil right, and Progressives need to treat it as such. Additionally, the Democrats need to grow a pair and real­ize that we voted them a mega – major­ity for a fuck­ing rea­son. From the article:

Mostly, though, there’s only one real solu­tion: Democrats have to have the guts to tell Republicans that they’re no longer part of the process. They have not nego­ti­ated in good faith and they’re not gonna vote for shit, no mat­ter how watered down. It’s gotta be “Fuck off, fuck­ers” and bar the door and pass what needs passing.

    A lot of “Progressives” or “Liberals” or what­ever you want to call them are (FINALLY) start­ing to get really pissed off at the Democrats’ feck­less­ness. I think this is actu­ally Obama’s plan — to rile every­one up so that he has the polit­i­cal cover to ram this thing through in bud­get rec­on­cil­i­a­tion. Because it’s never gonna hap­pen in the Senate oth­er­wise.

    FFS, I hope that’s his plan. If not, he’s been played.

    Healthcare is a civil right? Bullshit. This means another has the right to another person’s life and that is not a ten­able posi­tion. Why would any­one go through years of expen­sive edu­ca­tion to get a med­ical degree just to put their lives under the cor­rupt and incom­pe­tent thumb of the gov­ern­ment. It is a respon­si­bil­ity of a soci­ety and a good idea to get every­one good health­care but if you think the gov­ern­ment ass-wipes are the ones to do it, you are seri­ously deluded.

    The pro­gres­sives are two tugs away from being fas­cists and if you doubt that read up on their his­tory. They were sup­port­ers of eugen­ics, forced ster­il­iza­tions and adored Mussolini before WW2. More gov­ern­ment never solved any­thing and the only dif­fer­ence between the Dems and the GOP is the pace of march to ruin the country.
