Jesus Cthulhu Christ on a crispy rye cracker! Who do I have to defen­es­trate to get a sin­gle gods damned plu­gin that can a) give me a Flickr pic­tures wid­get, b) allow me to add Flickr pic­tures to posts with­out using retarded WP “short­codes,” and d) work prop­erly with a light­box plu­gin (again with­out hav­ing to man­u­ally edit every bloody  <img> tag. Seriously, I have 5 fuck­ing plu­g­ins installed to pull all that crap off. Web 2.0 my ass. More like Web Me

    It’s not a WP plu­gin, but if you use MarsEdit to com­pose your posts, it’ll let you insert Flickr pho­tos pretty easily.

    Ah, that sucks. Another, less con­ve­nient option is to post to the blog from Flickr. They’ve got a “blog this” but­ton that’ll insert the photo into a tem­plate you cre­ate (which you can add the rel=“lightbox” to) and then post it directly to the blog. That option sucks though because it requires going to Flickr to do it :-/

    Feh, I don’t use Flickr con­tent often enough for that to be an attrac­tive option. I sup­pose if I get annoyed enough I can dust off my PHP skills and write the damn thing myself.

    I’ve got some code I wrote a while back that dis­plays a cus­tom Flickr badge (9 pho­tos) in a light­box. It’s not a WP plu­gin, but it can eas­ily be included in your WP tem­plate where you want the images to show up… it prob­a­bly wouldn’t take much mod­i­fi­ca­tion if you wanted to turn it into a plu­gin. Let me know if you want it and I’ll zip it up.

    That browser, Flock, can do post­ing and Flickr. Don’t know about the com­bi­na­tion of those two, though. I do know there’s a Windows ver­sion of it.

    But let me get this straight: you want to be able to use your Flickr stream just like you’re able to use the pic­tures you’ve uploaded in WP, amongst other things? I mean, the light­box stuff is most likely always going to be a sep­a­rate plu­gin, and let’s face it, that’s not really a prob­lem. You want to light­box those non-Flickr pics too, right? =]

    As to the wid­get… didn’t Flickr have some widget-thingy for that?

    (that’d leave you with two plu­g­ins and a widget… =] )
