Well, I don't particularly enjoy articles that state "The iPhone camera isn't as good as my $300 dedicated point and shoot camera."

No-one wants to read articles that read "Here, as in many locations, my point-and-shoot has exactly the same cell reception as my iPhone".

In an analog-only area, my Canon A590is has exactly as good of reception as an iPhone!
