From a stand up routine about nothing, to a show about nothing, to an ad campaign about nothing. They hear vague-sounding technical stuff about Microsoft, and think it only has something to do with Word or their browser. A few people understand what "Vista" means, but (after 15 years of reading MS error messages) believe they were too stupid to make it work properly. Some others actually realize that their four-year-old machine worked better with XP, and have already forked over hard cash to a geek to reinstall it.</p> <p>The one thing all these people have in common with the rest of the population is this ad. It is now painfully apparent that both Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld are officially has-beens. Microsoft's ultra geeky-lame culture was strong enough to infect the ad agency they hired to the extent that the ad was completely ineffectual. A minute and a half of nothing to do with what Microsoft has done to improve Vista. You would think that Microsoft would want to create a new image for the company now that Bill is mainly gone - an image that would separate them from the anti-trust suits, Zune, Windows Mobile and their other failures. But they are totally clueless. Oh well, I guess it's good for a chuckle anyways...</p> After seeing that add I was speechless.
