Chrome

You’re dead to me Chrome. Seriously, I gave it a week; and I’m not seeing anything compelling. Back to Safari on Windows.

The main thing I’m finding it useful for is site specific browsers. For instance, I have created an “application” to access work’s bugzilla database, another to access our internal customer tracking system, and one for Google Reader. As a general purpose browser, though, I’m going back to Safari.

Safari on Windows? Really? Didn’t you mean Firefox on Windows?

@Jacko: No, I meant Safari on Windows. Firefox can suck my dick on any platform.

@The Angry Drunk: Sticking to the dick-sucking metaphor, Safari on Windows hasn’t got an ad blocker like it’s Mac brother, which makes it the slutty crabby Safari. Firefox on the other hand… job.

Thank You!! Could someone puhleeeese explain this love affair with Firefox that most people seem to be having? It takes a minute and a half to load on my machine when Safari takes five seconds, and can’t scroll except in quarter-screen jerks. And those are its least annoying features!

@Jacko: You know, I honestly don’t get the obsession with ad blocking that everyone seems to have. Maybe it’s because I’m not some ADHD riddled crackhead; but I make do by just ignoring the damned things.

I find that I can block 80% of ads and nearly all of the really annoying ones by just turning off flash (or in the case of Safari, turn off plug-ins). If I want to actually use flash, it isn’t very hard to turn back on in a few seconds.

When the ads stick in their regions of the page, I have no problem with them. I’ve even seen an interesting one a time or two.

But the pop-up/pop-under/take-over-the-whole-screen ones? Those I wouldn’t mind blocking. But I don’t see them every often, really.
