Gimme Gimme Gimme!

I ran across this gem on the Consumerist blog. Long, whiny story short; a dude with a six year old iBook that is 9 months out of the iBook Motherboard Replacement Program calls up ol’ Steve Jobs and wants to have his machine ser­vices. Apple’s response is “…at some point, the con­sumer has to take at least some responsibility.”

Good for Apple! I’m all for hold­ing cor­po­ra­tions’ feet to the fire regard­ing cus­tomer sat­is­fac­tion. But at what point did that trans­late to “whaaa…give me free shit.”
